HERA were appointed to the Reimagining Wordsworth project being delivered by the Wordsworth Trust, following the successful National Lottery Heritage Fund Round 1 award. Our role has been to work with the grantee, providing support and expertise of lottery funded capital projects, to enhance and guide the Development Phase work. Acting on behalf of the National Lottery Heritage Fund, we provide professional advice as the project is further developed.
The project aims to bring the William Wordsworth heritage alive, physically and digitally, allowing greater engagement with a range of audiences, transforming the literary heritage site at Dove Cottage in the Lake District through a new visitor and learning centre, and the opening up of buildings and green spaces for the first time. The project aims to pioneer new methods of interpreting manuscripts, and enhanced engagement opportunities through their activity plan, all striving to enhance the sustainability of this key museum.
