The York Museum and Art Gallery is located adjacent to the City Centre, and is bounded by St Mary’s Abbey and the City Walls. Following the successful award of funding from Arts Council England, a programme of refurbishment and extension works was able to commence, seeing the relocation of the York City Archives to a bespoke new archive store.
HERA’s role initially focussed on a desk based appraisal of the funding application, to inform Arts Council England’s, funding decision. Following a successful grant award, our role as construction advisor focused more specifically on assessing cost information, management arrangements, governance, programme and phasing, match funding, operation deliverbility, risk management, procurement, project management and cashflow.
